When All is Lost… Part Seven-The Finale
This is it! We’ve finally reached the end of the story. I hope you’ve enjoyed it. I won’t take up too much time here. Let’s get to the story!
Elsa stepped into the clearing behind Hans. She had heard it all, every word of Hans’ plan. This man, who had caused so much pain for her and Anna years ago, was still at it today. He was the one who had hunted her son for years, causing the necessity of sending him away.
And now he had her baby tied to a tree.
Once Elsa made sure Anna was free, she pulled out the sword General Mattias had given her. She took a step towards unsuspecting Hans, raised the sword up high, and before he could turn around… she threw the sword as hard as she could across the clearing. “Anna, catch!”
Hans turned just as Anna caught the sword and used it to cut Jack free.
“No!” He lunged toward Anna and Jack.
Elsa swept her hand through the air and the ground underneath Hans was covered with ice. Hans slipped and fell face forward. Another gesture from Elsa, and a tall wall of ice appeared, blocking Hans’ view of them.
Elsa used the opportunity to run to Anna and Jack. “Are you two alright? He didn’t hurt you did he?”
“We’re fine, Elsa. But Hans–”
“I know, I heard it all.”
There was a deafening crack, and the trio looked over to see that Elsa’s ice wall was cracking. Hans was breaking through.
The crack widened, and the tip of a sword plunged through. It wouldn’t be long before Hans broke through. Elsa stepped in front of Jack and Anna to shield them from Hans. But Jack stepped up beside her. “We do this together,” he said, looking up at her with big blue eyes.
Anna stepped up as well. “I agree.”
With one last ear-splitting noise, the ice wall shattered, and Hans stood panting from the effort, a malicious sneer on his face. His sword glinted in the sunlight. “I have you both now.”
Jack and Elsa raised their hands, ice and snow glittering in the air before them. Anna raised her sword.
“Ah ah, ah ah.”
Everyone froze.
“What was that?” Anna asked.
“Ah AH ahahah.”
“You heard that?” Elsa asked.
Hans looked more concerned than any of them had ever seen him. “What is that?”
Everyone looked where he pointed. Jack and Elsa were both glowing, or, their pendants were.
They both glowed more brightly than Elsa had ever seen them glow before. The clearing was flooded in bright blue light that radiated from the pendants. They interacted with magic, but her magic alone had never caused this much light. She looked at Jack; from the tearful smile he bore, it was clear that he knew.
She held out her hand to the boy, her son, and he took it eagerly. There was a blinding light, and then everything happened at once. The voice, the voice of Atohallen, sang louder than ever. Water, earth, wind, and fire all bound together by ice and snow swirled through the clearing.
Hans covered his ears and seemed to be in pain. “Make it stop,” he cried. He stumbled blindly through the swirl. The magic condensed and swirled faster so it soon was swirling only around Hans. When it finally died down, all that was left was what seemed to be a statue of ice in the form of King Hans of the Southern Isles.
There was one last ah ah, ah ah, before the magic faded away.
Elsa sighed in relief and wrapped her arms around her family. “Let’s go home.”
She cast one last icy glare at the frozen sculpture before leading the others through the thick, magical fog that would insure that no one found the Ice King for the rest of time.

Elsa couldn’t remember the last time she felt this content. Her family was no worse the wear for their adventures. Kristoff, along with the rest of the Arendellian soldiers, was fine, albeit annoyed at being knocked out and appalled that Elsa, Anna, and Jack had been forced to deal with Hans by themselves.
The children were thrilled to have Jack back and even more so to discover that he was their cousin, and even more than that to find that he really was Jack Frost. He entertained them for hours with little flurries of snow and patterns of frost on the windows.
Elsa and Jack had spent some time catching up with each other. Elsa told Jack about his birth and the time before his father took him away for safety. Jack told his mother about the travels he and his father went on. He also told her of the pirate attack, and that Father had not survived. They spent some time mourning together, finding comfort in their shared sorrow.
Elsa’s heart was full. Her son was lost, but now he was returned to her. She had people she loved surrounding her, and they were all safe. The only thing missing was her beloved Nikolas. She would always feel sorrow from that loss, but she would also always have the joy of having her baby boy returned safely to her.

“Where the North Wind, meets the sea.”
Jack stifled a yawn and snuggled down into his mother’s embrace. He had insisted that he was too old for lullabies, but Mother had convinced him just this once.
“There’s a mother, full of memory.”
He had to admit, it was kind of nice being held and sung to. He was warm, and comfortable and loved. Mother’s voice was beautiful and soothing.
“Come, my darling, homeward bound.”
He never realized how much he missed having a family until this moment. He felt perfectly content as he drifted off to sleep.
“When all is lost… then all is found.”

And there you have it! I hope the ending was satisfying. I love to hear any thoughts on the ending or the story as a whole! Feel free to leave a comment.
Since this series is over now, I’m going to try to start posting some other stories soon, including Genre Swapped and The Willow Creek Chronicles. Neither are finished yet, but I’m thinking of posting some as I write them.
I hope you’ll stick around to read some other stories!
