Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Four Weeks to Go-Theory Inside!
Okay, before I say anything else, check out this poster!
This poster makes me so happy; I’m currently using it as the wallpaper on my phone. As you may know, this final season is going to involve a lot of time travel. This poster certainly shows that. Each character is dressed for a different time period. I’m certainly excited to see what adventures they get up to in each time.
Now that we’ve discussed the poster, I want to share a little theory I have about Season Seven. Now, what I’m about to discuss deals with some major plot points from earlier seasons, so SPOILERS, SWEETIE!
*****
If you’re still here, then let’s begin. I give you: The Lincoln Campbell Theory.
Lincoln Campbell was in Seasons Two and Three, and was Daisy’s boyfriend. But, he sacrificed himself at the end of Season Three to save the world from Hive. Daisy didn’t take it very well. She left S.H.I.E.L.D. and struck out on her own.
But that only slightly pertains to our theory. Anyways, after Lincoln’s death, he got a mention in every single season following.
In the beginning of Season Four, we had Daisy doing really reckless and dangerous things because she though she should have died instead of Lincoln. Later in the same season, when the team entered the Framework, (a virtual alternate reality where people’s biggest regrets were changed) someone mentioned Daisy’s boyfriend and she immediately thought of Lincoln. (They weren’t referring to Lincoln.) Later, she used a computer to look up what had happened to Lincoln in the Framework. He still died, only under different circumstances.
Then, in Season Five, when Deke is about to tell Daisy that he likes her, she brings up Lincoln again, actually saying this time that she’s still in love with him.
And finally, in Season Six, Jemma mentions how Daisy ran away after Lincoln’s death. We also find out that Daisy has anonymously been sending much of her S.H.I.E.L.D. paycheck to Amanda Campbell, Lincoln’s sister.
So what do we know from all of this? Daisy still really cares about Lincoln even though it’s been several years since he died. Now, here’s what makes this theory possible.
As of Season Five, the Zephyr, the agents’ huge fancy plane, is now also a spaceship with cloaking abilities. As of the end of Season Six, it can now time travel as well. Add to all this the fact that they’re working with a Chronicom, and Chronicoms have teleporters.
One last piece to the puzzle, and then I’ll show you how it all fits together. At the very end of Season Six, Melinda May appears to have died. Then in walks Jemma Simmons, who injects May with… something and then declares that she’ll be fine. So S.H.I.E.L.D. has (reliable) healing technology too.
So, what I think will happen at the end of the season is simply this: once our heroes are done saving all of time and space, they’ll make one last stop before returning home. June 2016.
They will cloak the Zephyr and wait just outside of earth’s atmosphere for the quinjet carrying Hive and Lincoln to drift into space. Then, right before the quinjet blows up, Daisy will teleport in, grab Lincoln, and teleport them both back to the Zephyr. Jemma will then use their healing-y stuff to cure the injuries Lincoln had gotten from the explosive James had thrown at him, and they’ll all zoom back to the present!
Daisy and Lincoln will finally get a well earned happily ever after.
So, there you have it! The Lincoln Campbell Theory. I think it makes a lot of sense story wise. It probably all depends if they were able to get Luke Mitchell to come back and play Lincoln again.
I hope you enjoyed this little theory I came up with! If you’re planning on watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Seven, keep an eye out to see if I’m right! Remember that you heard it here on Caught in a Daydream!
Have a fantastic day, and watch out for Hydra!
